DONATIONS
Care does no come cheep. It is not easy to get people to donate to a facility that is not open to the public full time. Many of the animals in our care have had very stressful or traumatic lives. We strive to keep our environment as quiet and tranquil as possible. Most of our animals will never experience true freedom but we put forth our best efforts to give them the best life possible.

We receive no State or Federal funding and we survive strictly on the generosity of animal lovers like you who understand the importance of our cause—the Animals.

VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
Congratulations, you have decided to become a volunteer! This will be the most rewarding experience you will ever have and we look forward to having you join our team.

Our facility is very expensive to maintain and we rely heavily on active volunteer participation to offset some of the costs. You will have the opportunity to advance through many levels of training but the initial stage will not include hands-on contact with the animals.

Initial duties will include cleaning rehab cages, sorting and cutting produce, cleaning the kitchen, stocking bins, serving as tour back-ups, etc.

Your moving on to advanced duties, which will involve your being near the animals, will depend upon the head keeper's evaluation of your knowledge, dedication, attendence and attention safety issues.

Volunteer Requirements:

1)
Must be at least 18 years old or be accompanied by an adult

2)
Must attend a volunteer orientation

3)
Must have a set schedule – minimum 2 hours

4)
No taking photos or videos during volunteer time

5)
Must follow all rules or leave immediately when asked

6)
Must follow a dress code: closed toe hard shoes, long form fitting pants. We suggest that you bring extra cloths, as you will get wet and dirty.

7)
Any changes in your schedule must be arranged in advance, as we will be holding work for you that someone else will have to do if you are unable to attend.

8)
No running, teasing animals or horseplay allowed on the facility. You must also drive very slow, as animals are walking around the grounds.

9)
If feeling sick, please do not come! Animals are susceptable to our illnesses!

Volunteers With Special Skills Needed
While we will gladly train any competent person to volunteer at our facility, we are actively seeking persons with special skills and knowledge, such as:
• Construction and repair of enclosures
• Construction and repair of enrichment items
• Enrichment logging and designs
• Construction of feed and housing boxes
• Animal record keeping
• Computer skills
• Artistic skills
• Knowledge of animal dietary needs
